Based on the characteristics of the materials and their relationship with different materials, as well as the background and story of the object, the aim is to create simple yet profound designs. This time, the flower vase "SHALLOWS" was designed by Mr. Sakashita. The concept is "flowers blooming in a puddle." This flower vase is carved from high-purity, beautiful, and transparent crystal. There is a hole in the center to insert plants, and the gentle shallows from the edge of the vase to the hole create surface tension when filled with water. Then, the boundary between the vase and the water seems to disappear, the presence of the vase fades, and the illusion is created that only the column of water and the plants remain. The three elements of plants, water, and the vase, depending on the viewer's perspective, change from the main role to a supporting role, and from a supporting role to the main role, creating a product with a sense of balance that complements each other.
