Some people may dislike the bumpy pattern, but as an inkstone, it's hard and grinds ink well, making it a good one. There are scratches on the lid of the wooden box. Please check the photos. Also, the checkered pattern on the back is from a mat placed to prevent slipping. It can be removed by wiping. I'm parting with it to organize my belongings.
