Two calligraphy brushes in a high-quality pen case. Purchased at Habu Tenshodo (Nerima, Tokyo), but the brushes themselves are made by Horindo. This item was left by my parent. They mainly wrote kana characters in calligraphy, so I believe they purchased these brushes for writing fine lines. A memo indicates they were purchased in April 2005. I have also included a photo of the paper bag the brushes came in (the paper bag is not included in the sale). According to an online search, Habu Tenshodo in Nerima, Tokyo, closed down nearly 10 years ago. The item has been stored in a chest of drawers at home. It comes in a transparent case, with no noticeable stains, and the brush tips appear to be new. I believe these brushes were purchased for writing fine lines, so they could be used for calligraphy, drawing fine details, or as art brushes.
