It was generally recognized during the Kanbun era and became one of the Enshū Seven Kilns. Although it was later discontinued, it was revived by Shinpei Igarashi during the Kansei era. This Igarashi kiln used the Kozobe mark and is said to have continued until the early Meiji era. (The paulownia box has a signature and seal of Igarashi.)
