This product is 40 years old. It was a very unique product during the heyday of the figure-eight descender. It was useful because it allowed you to distribute the double rope for rappelling without tangling. It's been used quite a bit. Although it's made of metal, so deterioration is likely minimal, I don't recommend using it in practice as it's a descender. How about it for collectors of old mountaineering equipment?
