This is a Karakuri cigarette case made from Hakone Yosegi-zaiku marquetry. The pattern is a very beautiful example of craftsmanship, and the mechanism shown in photos 6 and 7 allows the cigarettes to be hidden. The size is approximately 11.3 cm in length, 8.7 cm in width, and 1.7 cm in thickness. I haven't smoked for about 30 years, and this has been stored in a drawer. As shown in photo 7, there are some scratches, but overall it is in good condition. I think Yosegi-zaiku cigarette cases like this are quite rare now. Of course, it can be used for other purposes, but considering the trick mechanism, it's probably best used as a cigarette case. How about it for a stylish smoker?
