This is a brooch with a steel filigree design. It is inlaid with numerous small, clear stones and dark-colored stones. It is a clip-on type. I bought it over 40 years ago because I liked the design, and I wore it a few times before storing it in a drawer. There are no markings, so I can't be certain, but at the time, there were few items made in China, so it's likely to be either made in Japan or the USA. It is well-made.
