She later immigrated to the United States and founded a fashion brand in 1909, mainly focusing on clothing. Targeting the wealthy, she expanded her chain stores throughout the United States. She began producing jewelry in 1918, and with Hollywood actresses and many celebrities as customers, she achieved success. This is a double strand necklace by Hattie Carnegie. It features a green and yellow marble pattern, using large Bakelite beads, and has a glamorous and voluminous design. Bakelite is said to be the world's first synthetic resin. Its heavy, substantial feel and deep colors have made it popular with many collectors in Europe and America. The clasp is signed "Hattie Carnegie" on the back.
