Early models have "DC IN.(+)―◎―(-) DC10V ONLY" printed on the top. Serial numbers starting with 05 or higher are current CS550 models. Serial numbers starting with 03 or lower are early CS550 models. Serial numbers with only numbers are also old-spec CS550 models. There's a misconception that this unit is not ideal when used with 9V, due to the "10V specification" being emphasized, but in reality, I think you can enjoy a rich chorus sound that surpasses other chorus pedals even with 9V.
