This is a large celadon bowl from the Southern Song Dynasty official kiln in China. The size is 18.5 cm in diameter and 8.5 cm in height. The base has a petal design, as if supporting the bowl. The celadon layers, which look like ice, are layered, creating a mysterious and wonderful effect. Where the celadon glaze is thin, the dark, iron-rich clay of the Southern Song Dynasty official kiln is visible. Unusually, the entire foot is covered with celadon glaze, and there are three small spur marks like those found on Ru ware, but there are some areas where the celadon glaze did not apply well.
