The Roland R-8M is a 1U rack-mountable hardware sound module with MIDI terminals and an easy-to-use LCD display. I confirmed that sound is output normally from the MIX OUT and headphone jacks by sending key notes (1-127) on 10 channels via MIDI IN. There was no scratchiness in the volume. All panel switches responded. It produces a thick, good sound. Since there is no card, I have not performed card tests or other checks. I performed maintenance because there was a problem with the power switch. The backup battery has been replaced with a new one. Although it is working, it is an old device, and there is age-related deterioration, such as rust on the edges of the case.
