This is an A4 binder made with black Bulgaro split leather from Italian leather. It's designed to fold over to the other side. As this is a prototype using split leather, it's offered at a significantly reduced price. Size: 24 x 32 x 1.5 cm Split leather refers to the "inner layer" of the leather after the grain side has been removed. Originally, cowhide is thick and difficult to use as is, so it's thinned through a skiving process before being made into products. Split leather is the underside that results from this process, and it's often used for prototypes or discarded. The Bulgaro leather used here has a beautifully treated underside, and I've sourced it from a leather shop that occasionally sells it. Since Bulgaro itself is a beautiful leather with tightly packed fibers, the split leather is also of very high quality, with a glossy sheen and firmness. It's very sturdy, without the roughness often associated with split leather, and has a simple, rustic appearance that I believe you'll enjoy using for a long time. Because this item uses a large amount of leather, it would be quite expensive if made with full-grain leather, but I can offer it at a lower price point because it's split leather.
