Fish-motif works by Susie Cooper are extremely rare. Susie Cooper was with Gray's Pottery from the age of 20 (1922) to 27 (1929), after which she became independent. In Europe and America, her early hand-painted works are particularly highly regarded, and they rarely appear on the market. I remember finding this piece and immediately purchasing it with excitement.
