The gold paint on the raised corners has chipped off as shown in the photos, but this is part of the design and not peeling. Otherwise, there appears to be no peeling on the gold paint on the rim, but there is a slight scratch on the surface that is only visible when held up to the light, which I couldn't capture in the photos.
