For securing the power transformer, a transformer base that floats in resin within a cast trunk case, common to the higher-end DCD-S10IIIL model, is used to cut low-frequency noise (see image 14). Equipped with AL24 Processing technology and using a Burr-Brown 24-bit DAC (PCM1704), this is a popular model with a focus on sound quality. As this is a mid-production type of the DCD-1650SR, it has no noticeable scratches and is in good condition. In preparation for listing, the pickup lens has been replaced, and silicone grease has been applied to the sliding parts. The tray opening/closing rubber belt has also been replaced. The overcurrent protection element has also been replaced. As the DCD-1650SR is known to have issues where the DAC on the L channel can fail due to its own heat generation, heat sinks have been added to both channel DACs (images 15 ⇒ 16). Low-viscosity, high-grade oil has been applied to the oil-impregnated bearings. Playback has been confirmed without any issues on both channels, using RCA for analog output and OPTICAL for digital output. There is no scratchiness in the PHONES output.
