The hip seat has pockets on the bottom and on both sides, so it can easily hold diapers, wet wipes, and a small water bottle, making it perfect for a walk. My child didn't like it, so I haven't used it much, but there are some slight scuff marks from my denim on the part that rests against the stomach (see image 6). You can't see it unless you take it off. Otherwise, there are no noticeable stains. The buckles are also in good working order.
