For sale is a Yamaha long cornet YCR-2310, now discontinued, with a case. I am selling it after using it in an orchestra performance. I played this cornet because the Yamaha top-line orchestral C cornet (trumpet shank, C trumpet bell), which costs around 500,000 yen, is expensive. I chose a long cornet because a short cornet + short mouthpiece wouldn't project the sound in an orchestra. I purchased this cornet used and had it adjusted at a repair shop, and then used it in rehearsals and performances. The instrument is in B♭ and the leadpipe is gold brass. A notable feature of the Yamaha long cornet is its 131mm bell. It's about the size of a rotary trumpet, and its rich sound is its appeal. It offers intonation and tone suitable for orchestral use, plus easy control. I think it can be used not only in orchestras but also in wind bands, solo performances, and jazz. The lacquer is still in good condition for its age, and while there are small scratches, scuffs, and minor lacquer peeling, any dents (that may have existed) have been repaired to an unnoticeable degree.
