I purchased this directly from a Persian rug importer. It's 100% wool. The colors are traditionally plant-dyed, and it's a very fine, hand-woven rug classified as a "Liz Gabbeh," indicating its high quality, including the fineness of the weave. I bought it because I loved it. In my personal opinion, despite being wool, it doesn't feel scratchy, and while it's sturdy, it's also soft. Out of many I looked at, the texture was by far the best. The golden mountains are impressive, but the blue of the sky, the vast land, and the lake create a beautiful gradation. The fact that these lines are woven straight without wavering is a testament to the high skill involved, and it's clear that this is the work of a wonderful artisan. Both the back and the front have very little difference in the pattern, which speaks to the fineness of the weave and the quality of the yarn used. It's a beautiful rug that draws you in the more you look at it. I've taken great care of it, avoiding direct sunlight as much as possible, but due to moving, I no longer have a place to display it, and it feels wasteful to keep it stored away, so I've decided to sell it. Although I'm not a professional inspector, I don't believe there are any stains.
