As the series name, "Ruska," means "autumn foliage" in Finnish, it is characterized by a unique, deep brown glaze that gives each piece a different expression. The designer is Ulla Procope (1921-1968), a representative of ARABIA. She launched this Ruska series in 1961, and it was a masterpiece produced for a long time until 1999. Procope's S-model form was also used in many other series besides Ruska, and its heat resistance, practicality, and durability made it popular. It is a tough porcelain that can also be used in the oven. There are individual differences in the texture of the surface glaze, and no two are exactly alike.
