I only laid my baby on it when they were a newborn. The stars have faded a bit, for some reason, since the beginning. Otherwise, there's nothing I can see that's concerning, based on my amateur inspection. It's easy to assemble; you just hook the ends of the two bars onto the four strings inside the mat to transform it into a three-dimensional baby gym.
