Konica Auto S2 The Konica Auto S2 is a 35mm fixed-lens rangefinder camera manufactured in Japan by Konishiroku Photo Industry Co., Ltd. in 1965. Unlike the previous Konica Auto S, this camera features a Hexanon 45mm f/1.8 lens, and the CdS metering cell has been moved to the name ring on the front of the lens. This change in sensor position has several advantages. One is that the lens cap now also covers the sensor, effectively turning off the metering system and conserving battery power. Another is that the sensor is also placed behind the filter, improving metering accuracy even when a filter is attached.
