Almost new, authentic French Army M-47 field jacket, early model, made of cotton. Developed in France after the war and adopted from 1947 to the 1950s. While being a military jacket, it has an elegant appearance. Similar to the American army jackets, it has a powerful feel without being overly angular, and its wide silhouette makes any outfit look smart. The matching pants are famous for their sturdy construction, so much so that they were turned inside out and used in a Margiela show, and the jacket is the same. This M-47 is an early model with no gussets on the lower pockets, and the shape of the chin strap is particularly noteworthy. It's usually trapezoidal, but this one has a flap-like shape, making it a very rare piece. There is no sign of wear, and it probably hasn't even been washed. What do you think?
