Deba knife, blade length 13.5cm, 165g. The back is about 7.2mm thick near the top of the heel. It's inscribed with "竹由" (Takeyoshi). There's a brand called "竹倫" (Take-rin) by Takeuchi Hamono Seisakusho Co., Ltd. in Mino City, next to Seki. An older brand from here, "竹晃" (Take-kou), often comes in, and since the "take" characters in both "竹由" and "竹晃" are the same style, I suspect it's an older brand from the same company, but I'm not certain. It's a genuine kasumi blade, made by layering soft iron and steel. I think the rust marks are mostly gone and it's clean. There's little sign of use, and the shinogi line is also clean. The handle has been replaced with a new one, so it should last a while. It has been thoroughly sharpened, the blade has been honed, and polished.
