● Soei Ogura: 1928 - July 22, 2021 Japanese Noh mask artist. Chairman of the Board of Directors of the NPO Japan Traditional Arts and Culture Association. In 1975, he went to France and studied drawing at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière. In 1984, he held the first Noh mask exhibition in Japan. The following year, in May 1985, he began exhibiting Noh masks in San Francisco, USA, and has since expanded his exhibitions both domestically and internationally. The original newspaper article featuring Mr. Soei Ogura and the receipt from Sogo where the previous owner purchased the item are also included. The photos were taken by an amateur, so the colors may appear different depending on the lighting. Although the item has been stored in a dark place without being used since purchase, there were some minor scratches on the head and cheeks from the time it was received. Please check photos 6 and 7. Also, the area where the string passes through is worn, which is believed to be proof that it was a genuine item that was used.
