A collection of avant-garde self-published works from West Germany. This book was published in conjunction with an exhibition held at the Weserburg Museum of Modern Art in Bremen. This is a collection of avant-garde zines and self-published works created in West Germany from the 1960s to the 1970s. In the mid-1960s, with the spread of printing technology, creators who found a unique aesthetic in these publications produced a variety of works. This book features experimental and ambitious works using words and visuals, including typed text, handwriting, drawings, collages of pornography and snapshots, and fragments of manga. It also explains the background of the works created amidst a shifting social climate, offering an opportunity to explore the philosophy born from the rebellion of "Do-It-Yourself" and re-examine the aesthetics of independent publishing labels and offset printing.
