This is a butter case by Ryuji Mitani. This is one of Ryuji Mitani's representative works, and he has been making it for many years. I bought this about 10 years ago. I loved it and used it to hold butter. The wood develops a nice patina the more you use it, and this one has a very good atmosphere. I used it, but I took good care of it, so although there is some aging, there are almost no scratches or stains. There is also almost no transfer of odors. A butter knife is included.
