This is a set of Shogi pieces and a piece box made by Seizan. The back of the piece box says "Baika" (the name of the calligraphy style). Until now, when I thought of Seizan, I thought of a piece maker from Osaka, but looking at the mark written on the back of this piece box, I've started to think that he might be a piece maker from Tokyo. This is a piece box that is not often seen with Osaka-style pieces. Perhaps the piece makers Seizan and Seigetsu were piece makers from Tokyo. The pieces will be sent in the piece box. (The flat box is not included.) One of the silver generals has a small chip (see photo 8). There are scratches from use. The pieces have been cleaned of dirt with fine sandpaper and polished with Seto polishing, so they are shining. Old pieces tend to have a strong wood feel, but these pieces feel like porcelain and are smooth to the touch.
