While there were no problems, it was too small for the amount of documents I carry every day. No plastic is used, only metal and leather. I bought this because I was tired of replacing briefcases every 2-3 years. I was really disappointed when I realized it was too small for my needs. **I noticed that the stitching on the pocket is loose. I don't know how to sew and can't fix it myself.
