Shonentai was a Japanese male idol group formed by the three members Kazuki Kiyonori, Katsuhide Uekusa, and Noriyuki Higashiyama. They made their record debut on December 12, 1985, with "Kamen Butokai" (Masquerade). Despite being their debut song, it immediately reached number 1 on the Oricon chart and ranked 3rd in the 1986 Oricon annual single sales ranking. It became Shonentai's biggest selling hit. They won the Best New Artist Award at the "28th Japan Record Awards" and the "'86 FNS Music Festival," and received numerous rookie awards for the hit song in 1986, as well as making their first appearance on the "37th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen." In 1987, their "bromide" (photo) sales ranked number 1 for the year.
