Please refrain from price negotiations. 【Hiroshi Arao】 Born in Kyoto in 1940. From around the age of 10, he was mentored by Kanjiro Kawai and his father, Tsunezo Arao. In 1969, he was asked by his teacher, Kanjiro, to revive the pottery industry in his hometown of Shimane Prefecture, and he built the Tsubaki Kiln at its current location in Yunotsu with his father, Tsunezo. In '78, his father passed away. After that, he began independent pottery making. He holds 6-7 solo exhibitions each year in various locations. In '82, he created teacups for the Crown Prince and Princess. In the same year, he presented a golden kiln-changed Tenmoku tea bowl to Prince Takamatsu. In '83, he fired the first climbing kiln in Sakazu, Kurashiki City. In 2003, it was designated as a Shimane Prefecture traditional craft.
