Thank you for viewing. This is a Chinese teapot (Zisha pot). With its deep color and smooth texture, it is likely made of Zisha (purple clay) from Yixing, Jiangsu Province, China. It is said that the more you use it, the more it develops a rich luster. The shoulder of the body is delicately carved with auspicious phrases such as "積善之家必有餘慶 (Good fortune will come to a family that accumulates good deeds)" and evocative phrases like "茶裏乾坤大 (There is a vast world within tea)," giving it a very refined quality. There is a signature mark on the underside of the lid, presumably from the artist or kiln (please check the photos). The exact date of acquisition is unknown, but it has been stored at home in its box for a long time. There are no noticeable scratches or chips, and I believe the condition is good. Although it may be unused, I cannot be certain, so I have listed the condition as "No noticeable scratches or stains." You can use it for Chinese tea (oolong, Pu'er, etc.) as well as Japanese tea.
