(Actual Vehicle Description) The JNR OhA 35 series passenger cars are a group of 20m-class steel passenger car types manufactured by the Ministry of Railways, the predecessor of Japanese National Railways. As an improved version of the SuHa 32 series passenger cars, various types were manufactured from the late 1930s. The OhA 35, the main type, is a third-class passenger car, with the first production year being 1939 (Showa 14). However, there were also types with similar structures to the SuHa 32 series, and production continued for a long time even after the mass production of the OhA 35. Due to the gradual improvement of the design and manufacturing technology, unlike the 20 series of later years, the "series" was not clearly defined, and the boundary between the SuHa 32 series and this series was not clear. The OhA 35 is a third-class passenger car that is the central presence of the OhA 35 series, and a total of 1,301 cars were manufactured in various factories from 1939 to 1943 and from 1946 to 1948.
