While he seems to differentiate between his own label, Blue Chopsticks, which leans towards minimal, noise, and contemporary music, he sticks to vocal tracks on DRAG CITY. The opening track, "Transom," is a highly technical, Gaster Del Sol-esque song with a sense of tension, just without the distortion. The addition of gentle vocals and a chorus makes it a fresh pop number. With tracks like "A Dream To Help Me Sleep," featuring beautiful piano and powerful acoustic guitar, this is a profound work with a sharp, spicy edge within its accessibility. His friend John McEntire also participates on drums. Matmos is in charge of electronics. *Rare Japanese edition with an obi and valuable lyrics translation.
