"Studies on the Shinsen Shōjiroku," Collected Works of Takashi Tanaka 9, Kokusho Kankokai, 1996 This volume is a compilation of research on the Shinsen Shōjiroku, including foundational studies, discussions of the heavenly deities, heavenly descendants, and earthly gods in the Shinsen Shōjiroku, extending to Ame no Hohino Mikoto, the lineage of the imperial family in the Shinsen Shōjiroku, an explanation of the Shinsen Shōjiroku's textual criticism, and a collection of lost fragments of the Shinsen Shōjiroku. Reference: As a study of the "Shinsen Shōjiroku," Aritsune Saeki's "Studies on the Shinsen Shōjiroku" in 10 volumes (Yoshikawa Kobunkan) is famous, but it requires considerable effort for a layperson to read. However, if you only want to read the "Shinsen Shōjiroku," it's probably better to buy Saeki's "Studies" main text volume. But considering that this book includes corrections, basic research (family relationships, genealogical charts, differences from the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, etc.) in one volume, as well as lost fragments cited in other documents, this book is recommended.
