Mr. Motohiko Shiomi began his guitar studies in 1976 at the "Isato Nakagawa Guitar School" and graduated the following year, in 1977, making him a senior to Masaaki Kishibe and Kotaro Oshio. He then started his own guitar school in Nagoya and published his instructional book, "Understanding Folk Guitar Introduction (1989)," from Shinko Music. In 1992, he collaborated with Isato Nakagawa on the instructional video "Electric Acoustic Guitar Basics" published by KMP Publishing, performing two demo songs at Isato's request. He began his solo guitarist live activities in earnest from 2017. This work, "ONCE AND FOR ALL," was produced and completed with support from Masaaki Kishibe. Among the 14 tracks, "Orange Jam" features a duet by Shiomi and Kishibe, both students of the Isato school, making it one of the highlights of this album. The recording took place at Music Well Studio in Osaka, known for producing albums by Masaaki Kishibe, Katsunori Sumide, and Kento Nishimura, with Atsushi Toda, who has the full trust of many solo guitarists, handling the engineering and mastering. Masaaki Kishibe, who wrote the liner notes for this album, said, "Having been present during the making of this album, I feel that we share a common root in the music we've pursued and the guitarists we've been influenced by, and when I listen to the work, I get a sense of, 'Ah, I understand.'" The album includes 14 tracks in total, featuring 11 original songs and three covers: "Maria Elena," "Look Up at the Night Sky," and "Danny Boy."
