Type...Pottery...Tsuboya-yaki This is a mizusashi (water container) by Jiro Kinjo, the first Living National Treasure of Okinawa, with a signed wooden box. The inscription is in Jiro Kinjo's own handwriting. This is a rare finger-combed mizusashi. The finger marks are powerful, and I believe it is a masterpiece from his prime. The jet-black glaze has some bright blue kiln variations, which is beautiful. The form is also solid. The matching lid is also undamaged, which is wonderful. The signed wooden box is also well-made.
