The bijin-ga depicted is thought to be hand-painted, with the soft movements of the hands, the texture of the white skin, the faint blush of the cheeks, the hairline, and even the patterns on the scabbard of the sword, all carefully drawn one by one. The bleeding of the dyes used to depict the hair ornaments (kanzashi) adds to the depth of flavor, and it is so moist and fresh that it is hard to believe it has passed through a long time. The fabric is silk for both the front and back. The outer fabric feels good to the touch and is supple. The silk lining has a thin, coarse weave with knots, as seen in pre-war fabrics. However, it also has a nice antique feel. The condition is generally good, although there is a small tea stain on the design on the back of the outer fabric (in my opinion). However, there is a somewhat large, light brown stain on the lining. It does not seem to have a major impact on the outer fabric. There are no noticeable large scratches or stains on the black half-collar attached to the nagajuban, but there is a spot that looks shiny when ironed. It may be hidden when worn, but please be aware of this. Although it is a men's nagajuban, due to its beautiful design, it can be worn or displayed as a decorative item by framing it.
