This is a plate from Occupied Japan. The brand name "MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN" means "Made in Japan under occupation." It was a marking required on Japanese exports from 1947, after the Pacific War, until the San Francisco Peace Treaty came into effect in 1952. These items have a strong message and were produced using a very labor-intensive manufacturing method. The condition shows some scratches, but there are no major chips or cracks.
