An interfacing is applied to the outer fabric to give it firmness, so it won't become limp. ◆ Bunkobon size (Japanese pocketbook size) There are some variations, but it's about 15.7cm tall and 31cm wide. It's photographed with a Kobunsha Bunko book (106mm x 152mm). * Due to the thickness of the fabric, the book entrance is a few mm narrower, so it is not compatible with Hayakawa Bunko books (156mm). ◆ Purple Yagasuri Sakura (Arrow Feather Sakura) The outer fabric is Southern Cross (described below★) with large purple and white Yagasuri (arrow feather) pattern and sakura (cherry blossoms). It has a Taisho Roman (romantic) atmosphere. The lining is also made of sturdy purple oxford fabric. The bookmark ribbon is deep red. ◆ I make these by finding fabrics I like. Because the fabric has crosses, it is called Southern Cross. It is not a normal plain weave, but a pattern that expresses a constant pattern by changing the way the weft and warp threads are woven.
