After purchase, I attached a reel indoors and tested its power and bending by "fishing" a stuffed animal, so there might be some minor signs of use, but it has never been used for actual fishing. The original model does not come with a tip. You can use the tips from other models you already own, and custom replacement tips (including titanium tips) are sold separately. The traditional Japanese rod design is stylish, featuring abalone, rattan, and a cotton thread-wrapped grip that doesn't slip even when wet.
