It is dyed in two layers: indigo BLUE and then logwood. Iron is used as a mordant (a process to fix the dye to the fibers), giving it a slightly reddish hue within the black. By weaving extra-fine linen threads at an ultra-high density, it reproduces indigo linen that is thin yet weighty, with firmness and luster. It is said that this fabric is dense enough to carry water. Also, because it is woven at high density, it is less prone to the deep wrinkles characteristic of linen. You will be surprised by the aging process, which is different from ordinary linen.
