Engraved with the mark of the former Naval Air Force. OGURA TOKYO JAPAN is engraved on the bell section, along with the anchor and star mark. The Army used the "star mark," and the Navy used the "anchor mark." Regarding the condition of the instrument, there is rust, dents, and dirt. It is over 80 years old. Please understand this before purchasing. If you intend to use it, it is recommended that you have it maintained by a professional. Ogura musical instruments were only made for a short period of about 6-7 years during the war, making them rare items. It is a valuable historical artifact, and would be wonderful as an antique object. This item belonged to my father, who served in the Navy during World War II. He often told stories about serving on ships like the Yamato, but I never knew he was in the military band. I heard that he was transferred to land duty near the end of the war.
