This is a Noh mask, "Shishiguchi" (Lion's Mouth), made by my grandfather, who was a miyadaiku (temple carpenter) in Iwate Prefecture, in his later years at home. His works were highly regarded and were even lent out to temples and stage performances. This is a Shishiguchi Noh mask with an expression that evokes a sense of sacredness, dignity, and overflowing power. I am listing it for sale due to the organization of my storage.
