U.S. Army CCC Winter Hat 7-1/2 CIVILIAN CONSERVATION CORPS This is a winter hat issued to the Civilian Conservation Corps and the military that supervised them, which was implemented during the New Deal policy of the 1940s to promote employment and restore morale, mainly for unmarried unemployed people. It has a visor-like front flap and a chin strap. When folded, it can be used as a shallow cap. The inside is lined with wool. There is a stamp that reads size 7-1/2.
