Birdy, an introverted girl with a morbid curiosity about blood. Her grandmother, concerned about Birdy's behavior, sends her to a secluded, dying convent. There, Birdy becomes immersed in the quietly crumbling world of the nuns, and eventually develops an abnormal obsession with one of them.
