Tatsunosuke Tanaka, the first generation of Yanagiya, devoted himself to restoring old toys that have been passed down in Tottori Prefecture, and it is said that he created various folk toys such as clay dolls and papier-mâché. After that, his daughter Miyako took over, and later she and her husband Kinji continued to make them, but it seems that they have now closed their business. In the old days, this was a toy that boys would ride and play with, and it is said that it came to be called Harukoma (Spring Horse) because it was used for New Year's play. The horse's head is sometimes made of papier-mâché or kneaded materials, but the "Itaba" (Board Horse) has a horse's head made of a board attached to the end of a round bamboo stick, and wheels are attached to the bottom of the stick.
