This is an otaiko (drum) style obi. It consists of a front band that wraps around the waist and a pre-tied otaiko section for the back. Like a yukata obi, the part that wraps around the waist has a string attached. There are no metal fittings. You simply place the pre-tied section on your back, secure it with a temporary string, and then add the obiage (sash scarf) and obijime (sash cord) to complete the look, ensuring the most attractive part of the pattern is displayed. This is a remake, combining a black ro (silk gauze) obi with a different fabric. Please understand that this is not the original pattern of the obi.
