A biographical drama depicting the life of Shinpei Nakayama, a composer born in the Meiji era who lived through the Taisho and Showa periods, and left behind approximately 2,000 songs in various genres, including children's songs, popular songs, folk songs, and traditional dance music, such as "Gondola no Uta," "Tokyo Ondo," "Shabondama," and "Teru Teru Bozu." Shinpei Nakayama, who came to Tokyo from Shinshu and entered the Tokyo Music School (now the Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts). He faces the risk of failing and being held back a year because his piano skills are not at the graduation level, but he manages to graduate after his teacher, Mr. Koda, recognizes his talents beyond performance. Eventually, after receiving the teaching of the director, Hōgetsu Shimamura, that "art must not be separated from the support of the masses," Shinpei, as a composer, begins to work on songs in various genres, from popular songs such as "Kachusha no Uta" and "Sendo Kouta" to children's songs such as "Shabondama" and "Teru Teru Bozu." He marries Toshiko, who understands his music, and lives happily with their two adopted children, but... Kabuki actor Hashinosuke Nakamura, in his first film appearance and starring role, plays Shinpei Nakayama from the age of 18 to 65, with Mirai Shida, Dai Watanabe, Toshiyuki Someya, and Takahiro Miura also appearing.
