The most distinctive feature of Winstanley Cats is their eyes. Called Cathedral Glass Eyes, they look alive and follow you wherever you look. (Reference Information) The history of Winstanley Cats ~ Jenny Winstanley began making cats after applying for a position as an assistant at the workshop of her future husband, Allen. Initially called the Kensington workshop in the 1950s, the couple began creating Jenny's distinctive cats in 1958, later adopting the name Winstanley Workshop, Jenny's maiden name. In 1964, they moved the workshop to Norfolk and began exporting mainly to the US, France, and Italy. In its heyday in the 90s, they employed five staff and had a second factory. Jenny passed away in 2004, but her sons have succeeded her, and works are still being made today.
