It depicts those who strive to protect the lives and peace of the nation from various standpoints amidst an attack by an unidentified military force. In the year 20XX, when the world has once again entered the "age of aircraft carriers," an unidentified military force occupies part of Japan's southernmost territory and detains Japan Coast Guard personnel. Amidst unprecedented tension, the government dispatches a fleet of escort ships, centered around the first aircraft-carrying escort ship "Ibuki," to the scene... Nishijima plays Ryota Akitsu, who is appointed as the captain of Ibuki due to his experience as an Air Self-Defense Force pilot, and Sasaki plays Toshiya Niinami, a Maritime Self-Defense Force veteran who is content with being the vice-captain. The film is directed by Setsuro Wakamatsu, who has worked on major films such as "The Unbroken" and "Whiteout." The screenplay is by Kazunori Ito of "Patlabor the Mobile Police" and Yasuo Hasegawa of "War of the Gods." Harutoshi Fukui, the author known for "Lorelei" and "War of the Gods," is involved in the planning.
